Jason Allen Free is an author of American Gothic, supernatural horror, and dark fantasy, with a particular love for stories built on atmosphere, mystery, nostalgia, and the uneasy feeling that something may be waiting just beyond what we can see.

Inspired by old legends, forgotten places, small-town mysteries, haunted landscapes, and the storytelling traditions of works like Tales From The Crypt and The X-Files, Jason prefers suspense and imagination over excessive gore. His stories often begin in familiar places—a lonely road, an old theater, a lighthouse, a carnival, a quiet stretch of woods—before opening the door to something much stranger.

His published collection, Jacked Up Tales, explores the darker and more playful side of supernatural storytelling. He is currently working on Fabion Fox’s Book of Shadows: A Collection of American Gothic & Dark Fantasy Tales, a new collection of interconnected stories woven together by recurring mysteries, ravens, black feathers, and the enigmatic presence of Fabion Fox.

For Jason, the best horror stories do more than frighten. They leave a question behind and make you wonder, just for a moment, whether the story really ended when you closed the book.
